During the last negotiations in 2002, there were complaints from some members that they were not being informed about what was going on in negotiations. What they said was correct, because communication takes time and energy. In addition, the process involves much stuff that does not make much sense. How does one explain something that does not make sense? Those complaints pushed us to set up this site. We are the only community college in New Jersey with a web site like this. A couple other college unions have tried and have not been successful.

I am surprised at the number of hits the site gets. This past week there were 290 unique visitors. The busiest days are Wednesdays. We had visitors log on from as far away as Colorado, Florida, and North Carolina.

Up till now, I have been the only one posting. That was to maintain control and to have a single voice. Penny Wells and John Stratton have the ability to upload to this page so you may soon see another name here.
