Negotiation Update

Friday, May 21st, 2010

On Tuesday May 11 and Wednesday May 12, the negotiation teams from all four bargaining units met with representatives of the administration to respond to each other’s proposals.  The meetings scheduled for the week of May 17th were cancelled.  We will not be meeting again until mid July.  Association members are encouraged to monitor the blog over the summer or setup email notifications to be sure you receive important updates as the fall academic term approaches.

Negotiations

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

We have met with the College’s Negotiating Team 3 times. We have made no progress to this point. We will not be resuming negotiations until Mid-July due to other obligations on both sides of the table. Our current contract will stay into effect until we settle with the exception of the State mandated 1.5% contribution to Health coverage. We can not bargain that amount.

Since we have made no progress to this point we feel that it may be a long negotiation process and may need your support in the future.

Be confident that we are making every effort to come to a satisfactory agreement between the college and SSAACCC.

If you have questions please do not hesitate to contact us. We will not be able to give you specifics about the negotiation meetings because it is to early in the process but will be able to answer questions regarding the process itself.

As always, thank you for the trust and support of your SSAACCC representatives.

Sandi Greco, Vice-President of SSAACCC

First Week of Negotiations

Thursday, May 6th, 2010

On Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, the negotiation teams from all four bargaining units met with representatives of the administration. The administration exchanged proposals with each unit. This involves going through the proposals article by article and asking/answering clarifying questions. Each unit is scheduled to meet with the administration next week and the week after.
