General Membership Meeting, May 7th

We will be having a general membership meeting on Monday, May 7th at 5:00 pm to discuss what is happening “around campus.” Topics will include: the request of the 2% give-back, job responsibilities and classifications, what your leaders have been doing to protect your interests and an overall “year in review.” We hope to see you all then.

Dunk Tank Update

Thanks to all who braved the cold water and volunteered for the dunk tank on Earth Day!

Thanks to those of you who participated by paying hard earned dollars to dunk your colleagues. The event was enjoyed by students, faculty and staff. We raised $400 for the ACCCEA Student Scholarship Fund!

We also would like to thank Bill Dougherty, who ran a table with information about drug and alcohol abuse, recovery and awareness.

Earth Day Celebration at Atlantic Cape

Earth Day will be celebrated at Atlantic Cape on April 25, 2012 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on the Mays Landing Campus. ACCCEA Summer Picnic Survey

The ACCCEA is considering sponsoring a summer picnic for our members and their families. Please take a moment to complete a brief survey to provide us with your feedback regarding a summer picnic. The survey will not take more than a few minutes to complete. The survey will only be available until March 30th since if we decide to proceed with a summer picnic we need to make our reservation to hold the date. We appreciate you taking the time to provide us with your feedback so we can better serve our members.

Fiscal Year 2013 Budget Update

The Executive Committee met with Administration today to discuss the budget for fiscal year 2013. Administration has informed us that they have been able to close the gap in the budget without us forgoing the 2% increase.

The Executive Committee appreciates the dedication and solidarity shown by all of its members. We thank all of you for your continued support and will continue to update you as information is provided regarding the ongoing fiscal issues.

General Membership Meeting of All Four Units in Regards to College Financial Crisis

Due to the current financial crisis of the college, several senior staff members including Dr. Mora have met with union leadership. There will be a general membership meeting in the Walter Edge theater on Thursday March 8th at 12:30 pm to discuss the financial crisis. We will be broadcasting this meeting to Atlantic City and Cape May. It is strongly recommended that all union members attend.

Today your Union Leadership met with representatives of the College to discuss the budget deficit of the Institution. The College has informed the Association that every effort is being made to explore all avenues of cost containment. While this may cause concern, please be advised that your Union Leadership will be meeting with College representatives on a regular basis, and we will notify the membership as information becomes available.
